2007–08 CEV Champions League

The 2007/08 season of Volleyball Champions League began on 16 October 2007 with the group stage and ended with the final on 30 March 2008., 24 teams from 15 nations took part in the competition. Dinamo Kazan Tattransgas from Russia won the competition.

Balance

Germany was represented by the triple winner of the previous year, VfB Friedrichshafen. The only Austrian team in the competition were the Aon hotVolleys Vienna.

VfB Friedrichshafen qualified with a balanced record of three victories and three defeats second in Group C for the play-offs. In the first round of the 3-0 win in the first leg against VK handed Dynamo Moscow in order to qualify for the quarter-finals. There, the defending champion failed after two games over five sets because three ball points to Sisley Treviso.

For the Aon hotVolleys Vienna the competition had ended after the first round. In Group D, the Austrians occupied with only one win against Copra Piacenza last.

Group stage

With the draw, the qualified teams were divided into six groups of four participants. The first two teams in each group and Roeselare as the best third in the group reached the play-offs.

Play-off

In addition to the set host Skra Belchatow still three teams qualified for the Final Four. These teams were determined in two play-off rounds with return game. The games were held from 12 to 14 and 19 to 21 February and on 4 / 6 and 12-13. March 2008 instead.

Final Four

In the Final Four on March 29 and 30 in Łódź played Skra Belchatow, which was determined after the completion of the group matches of the CEV as host, against the three qualified in the playoffs teams. Dinamo Kazan Tattransgas defeating in the final Copra Piacenza and the Poles occupied the third place.
