2008 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualification

The qualification for the FIFA Women's Championship 2008 was played out in the period from 20 October 2007 to 28 March 2008. Twelve teams played four places for the finals in Vietnam.

Mode

The qualification for the tournament was held in two phases. Based on the rankings in the Asia Cup 2006 Australia, China, Japan and North Korea have been set for the final round and therefore did not qualify.

The eight weakest national teams were divided by lot on four lots and determined to return the game, the participants at the 2nd Qualifying Round. It was played from 20th to 27th October 2007.

The winners of the first round and four other teams were divided by lot into two groups of four teams each. Within the groups played each team once against each other. The group winners and runners qualified for the final tournament. It was played in the period from 24 to 28 March 2008.

Taiwan reached by waiving Guam without a fight the second round.

Second qualifying round

Group A

All matches were played at Thanh Long Sports Complex in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).

Group B

Venue was the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium in Korat (Thailand).
