The final of denied as in the two previous years, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Nadal won in three sets and thus defended his title without dropping a set. This was his fourth triumph at the French Open ( after 2005, 2006 and 2007 ) and also his fourth overall Grand Slam title.
