2009–10 2. Bundesliga (women)
The 2009/10 season was the sixth season of the 2nd Bundesliga for women. The start of the season was scheduled for 20 September 2009. The last round was held on 16 May 2010. The relegation matches the third-bottom were scheduled for 24 and 30 May 2010.
The Department of Women's and Girls' Football FC Gütersloh 2000 founded with the FSV Gütersloh 2009 an independent club. The master of the Regionalliga West, the FFC Brauweiler Pulheim, appeared on 1 July 2009 for the 1st FC Cologne. The SG Wattenscheid 09 moved from the South to the North group.

North
In the northern group of Herford SV already secured on 14 April 2010 after 17 of 22 games without defeat the resurgence after 20 games and the championship and remained undefeated as the first team throughout the season. The relegation zone occupied Wattenscheid 09 and blue -and-white Hohen Neuendorf. Wattenscheid not approached at Werder Bremen in the penultimate round. The DFB awarded the match 2-0 for Bremen and sentenced Wattenscheid to a fine of 2,000 euros.
