2009–10 Tour de Ski

The Tour de Ski 2010 ( sponsors name: Viessmann FIS Tour de Ski performance by Craft Sportswear) is an organized regularly in the context of cross-country skiing World Cup 2009/2010 stage race. It took place from 1 to 10 January 2010, at four different locations in three countries instead. The Venues of 2010, Oberhof ( DKB Ski in Oberhof Arena ), Prague, Dobbiaco and Val di Fiemme. The South Tyrolean municipality of Toblach wore for the first time from a stage of the Tour de Ski. During the 2010 tour, the women put back a total distance of 60 kilometers, the men ran a total of 102 kilometers.

Advance

After the stage race had received mostly positive criticism in the previous year, several communities competed as venues for the fourth edition, including cities in Switzerland and in Liechtenstein and Austria. Of the four stages of the Tour 2008 /09 the starting point and the destination Oberhof in Val di Fiemme had received contracts until 2013, when the Czech organizers and Prague 's Nove Mesto na Moravě the problem lay in the rigors of travel for the athletes. In May 2009, the FIS finally announced that Prague indeed would continue to be a stage stop, Nove Mesto will be replaced by Toblach. The Italian community, located near the border with Austria, also benefited from a newly constructed cross-country center, which is taken at the 2009/2010 season in operation. In addition, the new program facilitates the logistics, since the final transfer of New Town will avoid the Val di Fiemme, FIS Race Director Jürg Capol motivation for the assignment to Dobbiaco.

Another change was the schedule: the Tour de Ski started for the first time in January in December. Capol hoped to carry out a larger opening ceremony in Oberhof, if you put that on New Year's Day.
