Background

After the Japanese Grand Prix, Jenson Button led the Drivers' Championship with 14 points ahead of Rubens Barrichello and 16 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel. Brawn -Mercedes resulted in the Constructors' Championship with 35.5 points ahead of Red Bull-Renault and 89 points ahead of Ferrari.

The crashed during the Grand Prix of Japan at Toyota Timo Glock was replaced by Kamui Kobayashi. This was the Grand Prix of Brazil made ​​his Formula 1 debut.

Training

Race

The Grand Prix of Brazil began with a turbulent starting phase. Barrichello claimed the lead from Webber.
