2009 Cricket World Cup Qualifier
The ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2009 was the qualifying tournament for the 2011 Cricket World Cup, which was held in South Africa from 1 to 19 April 2009. It was also the ninth qualifying tournament, which was played at a World Cup. In the final, Ireland was able to prevail against Canada by 9 wickets. In addition to these two teams to Kenya and the Netherlands were able to qualify for the finals tournament.

Format
In the preliminary round, the teams were divided into two groups, each having six teams. The first four of a group then qualified for the Super Eight, where each team was playing against the four teams from the other group and took the results from the preliminary round against the qualified teams there with in this round. The first four of these group were given ODI status for four years and qualified next to the Cricket World Cup 2011 for the ICC Intercontinental Cup from 2009 to 2010. The fifth and sixth placed teams from the Super Eight were also given ODI status for four years and qualified for the Intercontinental Cup. Then pass placement matches were played, with the first and second placed fought out the final, played the third - and fourth-placed for third place. etc. Even the teams that were eliminated in the group stage played a round of placement to participate in the future divisions of the World Cricket League and the ICC Intercontinental Shield to clarify 2009-2010. Thus, a total of 54 games were played.
