2009 IIHF InLine Hockey World Championship

The 13th IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship was held from 6th to June 13th, 2009 for the fifth time in Germany. As a venue acts Ingolstadt, where it is played in the Saturn Arena and a side hall.

Qualification

After the descent of Bulgaria and New Zealand from the Division I last year were two courses open to the tournament.

As an Asian- Oceanic qualifier, the Republic of China was nominated by the Association. In the African qualifiers to South Africa won against Namibia. The two games of the series in the best-of -Two mode took place on August 24 and 30, 2008. South Africa won the first game 3-2, making a 1:1 enough in the return match for the World Cup participation.

Preliminary round

In the preliminary round, the teams played in four groups of four teams, the rankings for the quarter-finals from. The two bottom-placed of the Top Division had in connection with the group winners of the Division I a subsequent qualification for the quarter-final qualification unsubscribe.

Top Division

Sovereign was relegated Austria win to win the group and qualify for the quarter-final relegation. Behind by Australia and Japan placed while the climber from Taiwan took a chance last.

Similarly sovereign as Austria in Group C occupied the Brazilians in Group D the first place. In second place Great Britain followed before Hungary. Movers South Africa occupied the last rank.

Quarter-final qualification

In the quarter-final qualification, the group of the top Fourth Division met the group First Division I. With Canada and Slovakia sat in both duels each the group Fourth of top division by which thus took part in the quarter-finals of this division. Austria and Brazil remained in the Division I, but had by a final victory in the Division I still have a chance to move up to the A group.
