2010 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualification
The qualification for the FIFA Women's Championship 2010 was played out in the period from 25 April 2009 to July 12, 2009. Eleven teams competed for three seats for the finals in the People's Republic of China.
Mode
The qualification for the tournament was held in two phases. The top five Asian teams were qualified for the final competition. These five teams include defending champion North Korea, China, Australia, Japan and South Korea. The other eleven teams played in two qualifying rounds for the remaining three places in the finals.
In the first qualifying round met in the period of April 25, on 3 May 2009 in Kuala Lumpur ( Malaysia), the five weakest teams to each other. The five teams played on the mode each against all three places in the second qualifying round. The second qualifying round was played in three groups of three teams. Within these groups, has also played against each after each mode. The three group winners qualified for the final tournament.
