2010 CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup
The eighth CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup, the North American Championship in women's football, was held in the period from October 28 to November 8, 2010 in Mexico. Mexico was for the first time host the tournament. The games were held in Cancún. Canada was the second time after 1998 CONCACAF champions.
The tournament served as qualifying for the World Cup 2011 in Germany. In addition to the tournament winner, Canada, Mexico qualified directly for the World Cup. Top favorite U.S. was third and had to play against Italy for a place at the World Cup.

Mode and venues
The national teams of the United States, Canada and Mexico had qualified automatically as the top three teams in the final tournament for the final round. The field was completed by three teams from the Caribbean and two teams to Central America.
In Central America, six teams first played in two groups of three. The two group winners were the finalists in the region. In the Caribbean, initially of 15 teams in five groups of three for a place in the second qualifying round. The five group winners and the best runners-up played together with Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago in two groups of four. The two group winners qualified directly, the runners-up play in the third qualifying round for the last Caribbean place in the finals.
The two finalists of the CONCACAF Women 's Gold Cup 2010 are directly qualified for the World Cup 2011. The United States as the winner of the game for third place, played in home and away leg against Italy, the fifth of Europe qualification to another place in the World Cup.
The matches of Group A and the two semi-finals were held in Estadio Beto Ávila, the games of Group B, the third place play- off and the final at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo instead.
