2010 European Wrestling Championships
The Ringer 2010 European Championships were held from 12 April to 18 April in Baku in Azerbaijan. Is fought in the style of Greco- Roman styles ( Greco) of lords, freestyle men's and women's freestyle. In each style medals will be awarded in seven weight classes.
Ahead there were fears Armenia could stay out of the tournament after Azerbaijan did not compete in a tournament in Yerevan. The two countries are at loggerheads for some time because of the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. In fact, Armenia drew the boycott in April through eventually and did not start at the continental championships in Baku.

Freestyle Men
The Freestyle Tournament was as in the previous year to a duel between Russia and Azerbaijan out. In contrast to the 2009 European Championship in Vilnius, the Russians had once again collected more gold medals. For the other countries, especially Bulgaria, Georgia and Turkey remained silver and bronze medals. Up to Chetag Gasjumow from Azerbaijan succeeded no athlete to defend his title won in 2009.

Date: April 2010 Defending champion: Ali Isayev, Azerbaijan Participants: 15 Defending champion Ali Isayev was after a defeat in the opening fight against Alexei Schemarow from Ukraine only 14 in the final won Biljal Machów from Russia in three rounds against the Turks, Fatih Çakiroglu. The 22 -year-old two -time world champion won with it at his European debut equal to the gold medal.
