2011 Aegon Trophy

The AEGON Trophy 2011 was a tennis tournament which took place in Nottingham from 10th to 18th April 2011. It was a tournament of the ATP Challenger Tour 2011 and part of the Nottingham Tennis Festival, which includes amongst others the AEGON Nottingham Challenge belonged. It was played outdoors on lawn.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 32 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. In the individual competition, there was a qualifying round with 16 players, by the four players could qualify for the main draw itself. The prize money of the event totaled € 64,000, representing an increase of € 12,500 corresponded to the previous year.

Winner of the individual competition was the unseeded Gilles Muller of Luxembourg, who won in straight sets in the final against the set at position seven German Matthias Bachinger. It was Mueller's sixth individual title at Challenger level and the first this season. The victorious last year Lithuanians Ričardas Berankis came into this year not to defend his title.

In the doubles competition Colin Fleming succeeded in defending his title from last year. He won with his partner Ross Hutchins this year set at position one the final against the set at position three German Dustin Brown and Martin Emmrich. Fleming's partner from last year, Ken Skupski was set with his new partner Carsten Ball at position two and failed in the quarterfinals. It was Fleming's ninth career title with a doubles competition of the Challenger category and second in the 2011 season. Hutchins For it was the sixth Challenger doubles title of his career and his first tournament victory of the season. It was the first joint victory of the British.
