2011 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup
The Volleyball World Cup 2011 is the twelfth edition of the competition. It takes place in Japan between 20 November and 4 December. This competition shall be construed as qualifying for the 2012 Olympics.

- Serbia Serbia and Italy Italy as finalists of the 2011 European Championship
- Iran Iran and People's Republic of China People's Republic of China as the finalists of the Asian Cup 2011
- Cuba and the United States of America as a finalist in the NORCECA Championship 2011
- Brazil Brazil and Argentina as a finalist in the South American Championship 2011
- Egypt Egypt as the winner of the Africa Cup 2011
- Russia Russia and Poland Poland at the invitation of the FIVB
Mode
The twelve participants play four rounds, where they are informally divided into two groups. The system is " every man for himself ", which means that each team has to complete 11 games in 15 days (with 4 days of rest ). For a 3:0 - the winner or 3-1 victory gets three points and the loser no points. In a 3-2 the winner gets two points and the loser one point. The first three teams will get a place for the 2012 Olympics, respectively.
