2011 Southeast Asian Games

The 26th Southeast Asian Games were held from 11 to 22 November 2011 in Palembang and Jakarta in Indonesia instead.

Organization

Indonesia was the fourth time hosting the Southeast Asian Games. At the same time began the 6th ASEAN Para Games for the physically challenged athletes, the 2 weeks of the SOA - ended in Surakarta games. In Palembang, the capital of South Sumatra became the main venue of the Games with a total of 296 events, while in the capital Jakarta 266 events took place. Palembang also hosted the opening and closing ceremonies.

Participant

It took a total of 11 countries are participating (number of participants where known in brackets): Brunei, Cambodia (163 ), Indonesia ( 1059 ), Laos, Malaysia ( 608), Myanmar ( 477), Philippines (512 ), Singapore ( 417), Thailand ( 882 ), East Timor (93) and Vietnam ( 608).
