2011 UEFA Women's U-17 Championship

The fourth U-17 Football Championship Women was held in the period from 28 to 31 July 2011 in Nyon ( Switzerland ). Venue was, as in the previous three years, the Centre sportif de Colovray. Eligible to play in turn, were players who were born on 1 January 1994 or later. The Spanish U- 17 team was able to successfully defend your title from the previous year and was the second time European champion in this age group.

Qualification

The European Championship was held in three stages. In two qualifying rounds, the four participants were identified in the final round.

In the first qualifying round of 40 of the 41 registered teams played in ten groups of four teams each from the participants at the second qualifying round. Within each group played each team once against each other in the form of mini-tournaments. One of the four participating teams of each group served as the host of this mini-tournament. A victory was rewarded with three points, a draw one point. Germany received a bye.

The group winners and five best runners qualified for the second qualifying round. In determining the best runners only the games against the group winners and third parties have been considered. The 16 remaining teams were again divided by lot into four groups of four teams each. The mode was identical to the first qualifying round. The group winners of the four mini-tournaments qualified for the final tournament.

The German team remained unbeaten during qualifying and clean sheets. In the first qualifying round Germany received a bye. In the second qualifying round of the German team won 5-0 against Finland, 9-0 against Russia, and 3-0 against Denmark.

Mode

The four teams determine the European Champion in the knockout system. The winners of the semifinals to reach the final and play the European champions. The losers play for third place. A game lasts regularly twice 40 minutes. Is it the end of regulation time draw as the game twice to ten minutes longer. If there's still no decision have fallen, the decision is in the penalty shootout.

Sara Däbritz brought the German team in the 12th minute with a 1-0 lead, Lina Magull and Annabel Jäger increased each with two goals before the half time whistle to 5:0. In the second half, again met Magull and hunters as well as Melanie Leupolz. Telma Thrastadróttir was reduced to 6:1 for Iceland meantime, Aldis Kara Ludviksdottir sat with her goal to 8:2 n the 80th minute the final point.

Scorer of the whole competition was the Icelander Aldis Kara Ludviksdottir with a total of 12 goals in qualifying and finals.
