2012 Bank of the West Classic

The Bank of the West Classic 2012 was a tennis tournament, which was played at Stanford from 9 to 15 July 2012. It was held in parallel to the tournament of Palermo.

Defending champion Serena Williams was in the individual. You could win the tournament again this year. In the final she beat her compatriot Coco Vandeweghe in straight sets 7:5 and 6:3. This was already her fourth title this year and its 43 titles in total in your professional career. In doubles, Azarenka and Maria Kirilenko Wiktoryja were the defending champions, but they both took no further part in the tournament. In this year's doubles final Marina Eraković won with her partner Heather Watson in straight sets against the top-seeded duo Jarmila Gajdošová and Vania King. For Eraković it was already the sixth doubles title while it was the first title of her career for Watson.

The field of the individual competition consisted of 28 players, double that of the competition from 16 pairs. The four top-ranked players in singles, as well as the top seed in the doubles pairing, each received a bye into the second round.
