The Grand Prix of Japan 2013 ( officially 2013 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix) was held on 13 October at the Suzuka International Racing Course in Suzuka place and was the 15th race of the Formula 1 season 2013.

Background

After the Grand Prix of Korea Sebastian Vettel led the drivers' championship with 77 points ahead of Fernando Alonso and 105 points ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. Red Bull -Renault resulted in the constructors' championship with 118 points ahead of Ferrari and 119 points ahead of Mercedes.

At the Grand Prix of Japan presented the Pirelli P Zero tire compounds drivers the hardware (orange) and P Zero medium ( white ) and for wet Cinturato Intermediates (green) and Cinturato Full Wets (blue ) are available.

With Vettel ( three times), Alonso (twice), Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button ( once each ) were five former winners of this Grand Prix.

As race officials acted José Abed ( MEX), Garry Connelly (AUS), Takashi Mitarashi (JPN ) and Emanuele Pirro (ITA ).

Training

In the first free practice Hamilton set the fastest time ahead of team- mate Nico Rosberg and Vettel. Heikki Kovalainen took over in this training the Caterham of Charles Pic. Qualifying

The first segment of the session was interrupted for about three minutes before the end, as Jean- Éric Vergne had stopped with burning rear brakes. Romain Grosjean was the fastest driver. Race
