The Grand Prix of Korea 2013 ( officially 2013 Formula 1 Korean Grand Prix ) was held on October 6th at the Korean International Circuit in Yeongam place and was the 14th race of the Formula 1 season 2013.

Background
After the Singapore Grand Prix Sebastian Vettel led the drivers' championship with 60 points ahead of Fernando Alonso and 96 points ahead of Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull -Renault resulted in the constructors' championship with 103 points ahead of Ferrari and 110 points ahead of Mercedes.
Compared to last year there were a few changes to the route. The pit exit was modified and now performs the run-out zone the first corner. The green strip between the track and run-off area were paved everywhere. In addition, the curbs and the artificial turf have been modified in some places. Since the pit lane exit has some bumps, it has already been criticized at the beginning of the first training of the drivers.
At the Grand Prix of Korea presented Pirelli riders the tire compounds P Zero medium ( white) and P Zero Supersoft (red ) and for wet Cinturato Intermediates (green) and Cinturato Full Wets (blue ) are available.
With Vettel ( twice) and Alonso ( again) were all former winners of this Grand Prix.
As race officials acted Silvia Bellot ( ESP), Garry Connelly (AUS), Emanuele Pirro (ITA) and Sung Kuk Jang (KOR ) .
Training
Hamilton scored in the first free practice session, the best time ahead of the Red Bull of Vettel and Mark Webber. James Calado took over in this training the Force India of Paul di Resta and Rodolfo González to Marussia by Jules Bianchi. During the first three pilots translated for a time less than 100 seconds González remained outside of the 107 -percent time. Several riders fell on with slips and rotators. Except in González, who thereby lost his front wing and Kimi Raikkonen, who slipped to the end of the training in the pit wall, it went off without damage. The drivers used only the medium tire compound. In the second free practice Hamilton remained at the top ahead of Vettel and his teammate Nico Rosberg. Hamilton was also the fastest rider with refueled vehicle. In the second free practice both tire compounds were used. In the first free practice session, a difference of one second per lap between the tire compounds became apparent. The durability of the super soft mixture was estimated from the training to ten to twelve rounds.
In the third free practice Vettel set the fastest time ahead of team mate Webber. Rosberg was third. Hamilton came to the fastest lap in the first practice sessions to fourth place. To the start of training he had shifting problems and vibrations. The driving behavior of his vehicle improved by changing the brake pads.
Qualifying
In the first phase of qualifying Räikkönen was the fastest pilot. The Marussia, Caterham and Williams drivers dropped out. In the second segment Vettel set the fastest time. The Toro Rosso, Force India and McLaren pilots dropped out. In the final section Vettel held the lead and scored the pole position ahead of Hamilton and Webber. For three warnings from the previous race Webber was moved to ten positions to the rear.
It was the 208th pole position by the engine manufacturer Renault. This Renault moved into the all-time best list with Ferrari equal to the first position.
Race
Vettel won the race ahead of Raikkonen and Grosjean.
Vettel started from pole position, the race led to consistently and set the fastest lap of the race. So he had a Grand Slam. Thus, Vettel scored two grand slams in two consecutive races, this was achieved previously only Alberto Ascari in 1952 and Jim Clark in 1963.
