The Grand Prix of Korea 2013 ( officially 2013 Formula 1 Korean Grand Prix ) was held on October 6th at the Korean International Circuit in Yeongam place and was the 14th race of the Formula 1 season 2013.

Background

After the Singapore Grand Prix Sebastian Vettel led the drivers' championship with 60 points ahead of Fernando Alonso and 96 points ahead of Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull -Renault resulted in the constructors' championship with 103 points ahead of Ferrari and 110 points ahead of Mercedes.

Compared to last year there were a few changes to the route. The pit exit was modified and now performs the run-out zone the first corner. The green strip between the track and run-off area were paved everywhere. In addition, the curbs and the artificial turf have been modified in some places. Since the pit lane exit has some bumps, it has already been criticized at the beginning of the first training of the drivers.

Training

Hamilton scored in the first free practice session, the best time ahead of the Red Bull of Vettel and Mark Webber. Qualifying

For three warnings from the previous race Webber was moved to ten positions to the rear.

It was the 208th pole position by the engine manufacturer Renault. This Renault moved into the all-time best list with Ferrari equal to the first position.

Race

Vettel won the race ahead of Raikkonen and Grosjean.
