In the final, Lisicki defeated the Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli 6-1, 6-4. Bartoli was after 2007 for the second time in the finals of Wimbledon, then they defeated Venus Williams. The French thus won her first Grand Slam title.

Qualification

The qualification of the Wimbledon Championships took place for the ladies from 18 to 20 June 2013. Plays were twelve qualifiers places eligible to participate in the main draw of the tournament.

Among the twelve successful qualifiers were Yvonne Meusburger from Austria and Carina Witthöft from Germany. For Witthöft it was the first appearance in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament.
