2015 UEFA Women's U-17 Championship

The eighth U-17 Football Championship Women will be held in 2015 in Iceland. It is named after the U-19 European Championship in 2007, the second UEFA Women's Football Tournament in Iceland. The final round will begin with eight teams for the second time.

Qualification

The European Championship is organized in three stages. In two qualifying rounds, the seven other participants will be determined in the final round. Iceland qualify automatically as hosts.

In the first qualifying round play 40 of teams entered into ten groups of four teams each, the participants in the second qualifying round. Within each group, each team plays once against each other in the form of mini-tournaments, which are held at various dates between 1 August and 31 October 2014. One of the four participating teams of each group acts as the host of this mini-tournament. A victory is rewarded with three points, a draw one point. The group draw was held on November 20, 2013 in Nyon, Switzerland, venue of the previous finals instead. The German team (winner 2008, 2009 and 2012) as well as Spain won (winner 2010 and 2011 ) and France (World Champion 2012) received a bye to the second round. Switzerland will play in Group 3 against Hungary, Azerbaijan and Portugal. Austria meets in Group 5 on the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Northern Ireland. The hosts still to be determined.

The 10 group winners and runners-up and the third best group qualify for the second qualifying round (Elite round). In determining the best third only the games against the group winners and runners-up are considered.
