Roman Empire
- April 8: The Roman Emperor Caracalla is assassinated by his bodyguard Julius Martialis on a campaign against the Parthians. For indeed may have him Macrinus, the prefect of the Praetorian Guard, instigated.
- April 11: In Mesopotamia choose three days after the murder of the Roman emperor Caracalla, the soldiers of the usurper Macrinus as his successor. He is currently on a campaign against the Parthians and does not come during his tenure to 218 to Rome.

- The Three Kingdoms Period: The Chinese General Lu Su dies. His successor on the Jing province of the warlord Sun Quan determines the general Lü Meng.
