24-hour race

24 -hour races are endurance contests in which within 24 hours of the greatest possible distance to be traveled. Participants must normally be after the time still in the race and cross within a given time frame under its own power to the finish line so that the distance traveled can also be counted.

This type of competition was introduced in 1923 by the 24 - hour race at Le Mans. Aside from automobiles also 24 -hour race will take place on motorcycles and karts in motor sports among others.
