24 Preludes, Op. 11 (Scriabin)

The 24 Preludes, Op 11 form a piano cycle by Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin. Made between 1888 and 1896.

Formation

One of the 24 Preludes Op 11 (No. 4 in E minor ) has already emerged in 1888, when Alexander Scriabin was a good 16 years old. In January this year, he entered the Moscow Conservatory and before completion of the work, he received his diploma as a "freelance musician " and a gold medal for piano play. Due to severe inflammation in his hand, he went to 1895 recreational trips to Berlin, Dresden, Heidelberg, Vitznau, Genoa, Nice and other cities. There, many of the pieces from op 11 1896 emerged he finished the work in Paris.

Construction

The 24 Préludes are written in all major and minor keys and arranged in ascending circle of fifths, as well as the 24 Preludes, Op 28 by Frédéric Chopin, who had a role model for Scriabin in this regard.

The fact that all major and minor keys occur exactly once in Scriabin's Opus 11 is thanks to his publisher Mitrofan Petrovich Belyayev, the Scriabin financially pressured to achieve this. However, Scriabin came Belyayev requirement to write another such band, not after. He wrote instead of another 24 preludes in different keys, only 23 ( opp. 13, 15, 16 and 17), some of which have the same key.

Prelude in E major, Op 11 No 9

In Opus 11 which are " central harmonic, melodic and rhythmic achievements of his early compositional development [ ... ] united as a burning glass ". The following are some of these features are enumerated using the slow cantabile out E major Preludes and assigned:
