( 24999 ) Jerome is one of the main asteroid belt, which by the Czech astronomer Petr Pravec at the observatory Ondřejov (IAU code 557 ) was discovered in the Czech Republic on 24 July 1998.

The asteroid was named on August 4, 2001 after the Dutch Renaissance painter Hieronymus Bosch (c. 1450-1560 ), whose work stands out for its symbolism.
