  • Reich crisis of the 3rd century in the Roman Empire: The Goths, accompanied by the Heruli, leave in the Aegean Sea from the northern shore of the Azov Sea. Among other things, Crete, Athens, Rhodes and Cyprus are plundered by them.
  • Autumn: In Heraclea Pontica is the prince of Palmyra, Septimius Odaenathus killed. His assassination was probably commissioned by the Roman Emperor Gallienus in order. Odaenathus ' son Vaballathus inherits the title of " King of Kings ", which makes him a virtually autonomous rulers of the Roman province of Syria, but not the special powers that Gallienus had transferred his father.
