- A Roman embassy consul Fabius Maximus under Gurges travels to Ptolemy II to establish diplomatic relations with Egypt.
- The Etruscan city of Caere closes with the Romans peace.
- Rome built in Paestum and Cosa in Etruria Latin colonies. Elea also agrees with the Romans.
- Pyrrhus of Epirus I. Antigonus II Gonatas makes the Macedonian throne in dispute and falls into Macedonia. Pyrrhus succeeds in taking Aegae; Antigonus is forced to flee.
- Pyrrhus appoints his son Ptolemy, who had remained in Taranto, from Greece. The Tarentines are now placed permanently in the fight against the Romans themselves.
