( 28220 ) York is an asteroid of the main belt, by Czech astronomers Jana Ticha and Miloš Tichý at Kleť Observatory (IAU code 046) was discovered in Český Krumlov in South Bohemia on 28 December 1998.

The asteroid was named after the northern English city of York on 24 June 2002, the former residence of the county of Yorkshire.
