( 29137 ) Alan Boss is an asteroid of the inner main belt, which by the American astronomers Carolyn and Eugene Shoemaker at Palomar Observatory (IAU code 675) was discovered in California on October 18, 1987.

Was named the asteroid after the American astrophysicist and astronomer Alan Boss ( * 1951), who wrote important contributions to the formation of gas giants and binary star systems and is currently engaged in the detection and characterization of nearby habitable Earth-like planets.
