( 29189 ) Udinsk is an asteroid of the main belt of the Belgian astronomer Eric Walter Elst at the La Silla Observatory ( IAU code 809 ) of the ( ESO) was discovered in Chile on October 16, 1990 European Southern Observatory.

The asteroid was named after the nearby at the confluence of the rivers Uda and Selenga capital of the Russian republic of Buryatia Ulan- Ude, founded in 1666 as a wintering station of Cossacks.
