( 29402 ) Obelix is an asteroid of the outer main belt, which was discovered by Czech astronomer Miloš Tichý and Zdeněk Moravec at Kleť Observatory (IAU code 046) in Český Krumlov on October 14, 1996.

( 29402 ) Obelix is named after the cartoon character Obelix. The appointment was made by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) on 6 August 2003. On the same day a main-belt asteroid was named after Asterix, namely ( 29401 ) Asterix.
