2,5-dimethoxy -4- iodphenethylamin ( abbreviated as 2C-I ) is a psychedelic, recognized as its structure to the groups of substances, phenol ethers, phenethylamines, as well as to the group of 2Cs.
History
The American chemist Alexander Shulgin synthesized 2C-I for the first time and mentioned synthesis, dose and effect in his book PiHKAL.
Pharmacodynamics
The effect is entaktogen / empathogenic and entheogen described among other things as stimulating. This is attributed in part to the action of the 2C Is a potent 5-HT2A/2C agonist of serotonin receptors. 2C-I acts (including, among others ) as a serotonin -norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor ( IC50 5 - HT: 79 ± 19 uM NE: 37 ± 12 uM ).
Pharmacokinetics
Shulgin indicates the effective oral dose in the range of 14-22 mg, the duration of action of 6-10 hours.
Legal status
2C-I is in the Federal Republic of Germany due to its performance in Appendix 1 BtmG a non- marketable drugs. Coping without permission is punishable by law in principle.
