30-degree rule

The 30-degree rule states that a setting in a film of an angle should be added (in relation to the axis of the camera - image content, the " camera axis" ) that differs by at least 30 degrees from the previous setting, to a liquid, can not be guaranteed as suddenly felt cut. The setting must be selected so that an axis jump is avoided.

A jumping section ( jump cut ), however, can also be used intentionally as a stylistic device, as it did in some of his films such as the French Nouvelle Vague director Jean -Luc Godard. The best known example of this is Breathless (À bout de souffle ) of 1959.
