30 Hudson Yards

30 Hudson Yards (also known under the name Hudson Yards North Tower ) is a partially under construction skyscraper in New York City.

Initial planning for the project were presented in summer 2011. The tower is located on the so-called Hudson Yards - a district in the far west of Manhattan. The name derives from the Hudson River, which marks the western edge of the island of Manhattan. The street address is West 33rd Street and 10th Avenue. Currently (as of end of 2013 ) is here a huge complex of buildings created, similar to the World Trade Center.

The North Tower will be 374 feet tall and have 80 floors. Thus, the tower would be only 7 meters lower than the structural height of the Empire State Building. However, it would be significantly lower than the One World Trade Center, to be completed by current plans in 2014. With the development of the construction plans by the renowned American architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox was commissioned. The structure ends with a tip that follows on one side of the flat roof, which is about 350 meters high. For the first time in New York to develop an open outdoor observation deck. This should be publicly accessible and located at a height of 321 meters. A further (closed ) observation deck is located on the upper floors ( 76-80 ) are located. There is also a Sky Club lounge and a large hall to be built. A good public accessibility is ensured with the planned extension of the No. 7 subway line.

On 1 July 2013 it was announced that Time Warner wants to give up his location on Columbus Circle and wants to move in by 2018 in the North Tower. The Time Warner Center is to be taken over by Related and converted into apartments. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on 4 December 2013. For the construction of the tower the construction of a platform is first necessary, which should cover the repair station located underground. The work is expected to begin in early January 2014.

The skyscraper is to receive a LEED Gold certification. According to current plans, the latest in early 2014 is to begin with the construction to meet the schedule (feed from Time Warner 2018).
