( 3204 ) Lindgren is an asteroid of the outer main belt, which was discovered by Soviet astronomer Nikolai Chernykh on 1 September 1978 from the Crimean Observatory in Nautschnyj (IAU code 095).

The sun orbit of the asteroid is highly elliptical with an eccentricity of 0.2791.

( 3204 ) Lindgren was named to the proposal of the Russian Academy of Sciences on April 2, 1988 by the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren. In response to the appointment it is from the year 1996 quoted " from now on you can address me Asteroid Lindgren " ( translation: " from now you may address me Asteroid Lindgren with "). Also named after Astrid Lindgren is a caldera on the northern hemisphere of the planet Venus: Lindgren Patera.
