32nd Berlin International Film Festival

The International Film Festival Berlin 1982 took place until February 23, 1982 by February 12.

At the Berlinale, it came before the festival excited discussions. Festival director Moritz de Hadeln the American film rejected with the wind to the west for the competition. The film is about a family that flees a hot air balloon from the GDR. The Springer press condemned this decision as pandering to the GDR. Axel Caesar Springer himself organized the Germany premiere of the film on the opening day of the Berlinale as a counter-event.

International Jury

President of the Jury was the American film actress Joan Fontaine. She stood in front of the following judges: Vladimir Baskakov (USSR ), Brigitte Fossey (France), Joe Hembus ( Germany ), Laszló Lugossy (Hungary ), Gian Luigi Rondi (Italy ), Helma Sanders- Brahms ( Germany ), Mrinal Sen ( India) and David J. Stratton (Australia).

  • Golden Bear: Veronika Voss
  • Silver Bears: Schauder ( Special Jury Prize for the great originality )
  • Mario Monicelli ( Best Director )
  • Katrin Sass of guarantee for one year ( Best Actress )
  • Michel Piccoli in a strange story and Stellan Skarsgård in the simple-minded killer ( Best Actor )
  • Zoltan Fabri, for his screenplay for Requiem ( Outstanding Single Performance )
