The asteroid is named after a goddess from Greek mythology, see Persephone ( mythology).

Persephone has a diameter of about 49 kilometers.

So, as there was also a Roman mythological Proserpina corresponding to the Greek Persephone, there is also an asteroid called Proserpina.
