World War I

After mobilization in July 1914, the regiment was initially transferred from the 39th to the 30th Infantry Division and provided to the end of September patrolling, security and intelligence services in Mulhouse in Alsace and in the area of ​​Saint -Quentin in northern France. By the end of November 1914, the regiment remained in the area of Arras and Ypres, before it was moved to the East. By autumn 1916, the hunter fought both as cavalry and infantry on the Vistula, the Rawka, Bzury and the Dvina. In the meantime, the regiment was involved in advances towards Kovno and Vilna. Then he was transferred the unity of the inspection stages 12 in Russian Poland, where it took police and security tasks until February 1919. The unit remained until the war ended the cavalry status.

Since the home garrison was no longer accessible, the regiment from 22 February 1919 was dissolved in Spangenberg.

Before the march back a volunteer squadron had been compiled for border guard duties in Grodno yet.
