3sat

3sat is an ad free German -language public-law television. As a Community institution, the full program with a cultural focus on ZDF, ORF and SRG SSR (represented by the Swiss radio and television) is operated and the national broadcasters of the ARD. Spring Leading Sender is the ZDF, even the broadcast center with the studios is at its facility for in-house productions.

History

On January 1, 1984 in Ludwigshafen started the local cable pilot project to which the ZDF ZDF program contributed the two specifically designated to newly established. In 1989, the station reached 7 million households in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 1990, the television of the GDR rose with one, and it was thought about a name change to 4sat. Dominant color of the new design is red. The logo was given a red note in the form of a red rectangle that surrounds the three; in return, the four boxes were removed. With the revision, 49 new TV spots went on the air. The displays, which present different portraits were shot with the Vertigo effect.

In 2005, 3sat was criticized together with n-tv, because the transmitter reports on projects by aid agencies such as World Vision and the Christian Blind Mission were financed by them. The German Council for Public Relations presented in this process laid no improper conduct.

In 2008, the weekday broadcasts received nano and culture each time a new design and a new studio style. During the Munich Media Days 2008, the new culture time studio decoration was awarded the first prize for the "Best studio design " in the " Eyes & Ears of Europe Awards ".

Reception

The channel is broadcast via the Astra satellite in Europe and can be received in Germany and Austria almost blanket coverage of all cable networks in the DVB -T reception areas and on the IPTV platform Telekom Entertain today. In southern Africa the program using the transmitter of Deukom be received. Individual programs can be seen on a live stream in the 3sat library on the internet. In South Tyrol, the station is broadcast from the radio - Anstalt Südtirol via DVB- T since May 2010. Since April 30, 2012 3sat is also to receive you in HD resolution. However, the station announced in advance that it will not be possible due to renovations until early 2013 to send native HD content. Until then, the complete program will only be upscaled to see, even if the content is actually available in HD resolution. After the beginning of June 2013 completed move to the HD broadcast environment of the ZDF, the transmitter is able to broadcast in native HD.

2009, 3sat in Germany with a market share of 1.1%, from 1.9% in Austria and in Switzerland by 1.2%.
