( 4171) Carrasco is a main belt asteroid that was discovered on March 23, 1982 by Carolyn Jean Spellman Shoemaker from the Palomar observatory.

Measurements of the brightness variations of the asteroid from the April 2009 showed an amplitude of about 0.2 may, where due to the data, the number of extrema during a cycle can not be clearly defined and their analysis to conclude that a rotation period of about 17 hours or the twice, ie of not quite 34 hours, to proceed.

The asteroid was named after Juan Carrasco, an employee at the Palomar Observatory.
