( 4722 ) Agelaus is an asteroid from the group of Jupiter Trojans. Thus asteroids are called, which run on the path of Jupiter on the Lagrange points around the sun. ( 4722 ) Agelaus was discovered by C. J. and I. v. Houten - Groeneveld, Tom Gehrels on 16 October 1977. He is associated with the Lagrangian point L5.

The asteroid is named after the mythological figure Agelaus, which communicates with the Trojan War.
