5 Years in a Live Time (german for: "5 years of a life time ") is the second live video of the American progressive metal band Dream Theater. It includes various live performances and concert clips, music videos of the band, " behind-the- scenes " footage and interviews with the band members. All these scenes are from the five years that have passed since the first video of the band, Live in Tokyo, passed.

The video is composed of the following videos, concerts, etc.:

• The Making of their 1994 publication album Awake
• Songs of the Waking -Up - the-world tour
• Parts of the recorded 1995 live performance " Uncovered" show at " Ronnie Scott 's Jazz Club"
• The Making of their 1997 album Falling into Infinity published
• Songs of the Touring into Infinity Tour, among others, with the "Unplugged" in Rotterdam and the Paris concert, which can be heard on the album Once in a Live Time
• The music videos for the songs " Lie", "The Silent Man" and " Hollow Years"

In 2004, 5 Years in a Live Time was on DVD along with Images and Words: Live in Tokyo published. There, audio commentary from the band members are also heard.
