( 56329 ) Tarxien is an asteroid of the inner main belt, which was discovered on 28 November 1999 by the Czech astronomers Jana Ticha couple and Miloš Tichý at Kleť Observatory (IAU code 046) in Český Krumlov.

The asteroid Vesta is a member of the family, a large group of asteroids, named after ( 4) Vesta, the second largest asteroid and the third-largest celestial body of the main belt. The timeless ( nichtoskulierenden ) orbital elements of ( 56329 ) Tarxien are almost identical to those of the larger, if we start from the absolute brightness of 15.1 compared to 16.3, asteroid ( 45938 ) 2001 AV4.

( 56329 ) Tarxien is named after the temples of Tarxien, a Neolithic temple complex dating from the 3rd and 4th millennium BC in Malta, who had visited Jana Ticha and Miloš Tichý in October 2002. The appointment was made by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) on March 6, 2004.
