Benzylaminopurine or benzyladenine, short BAP, is a synthetic plant hormone, which is used in cell and tissue culture.

BAP was first synthesized in the laboratory of the Swedish plant physiologist Folke Skoog Karl and examined.

It belongs to the first generation of synthetic cytokinins and has a positive influence on plant growth. BAP has an effect on the flowering and fruiting by a stimulation of cell division rate.
