• 20th year of the reign of the Babylonian king Šamaš - šuma - ukin ( 648-647 BC): On 12 July ( 14 Du'uzu ) conquest of Babylon by the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal and his brother. Šamaš - šuma - ukin is killed during the attack.
