( 6959 ) Mikkelkocha is an asteroid of the outer main belt, by the Danish astronomer Poul Jensen at the Schmidt telescope of the Brorfelde Observatory (IAU code 054) was discovered near Holbæk on 3 November 1988. Unconfirmed sightings of the asteroid it had (1963 SY ) where in Indiana in 1963 at the Goethe Link Observatory.

( 6959 ) Mikkelkocha was named after the grandson of the discoverer, the 2004 -born Mikkel Kock Augustesen. The naming of the asteroid on 18 September 2005.
