7:35 de la mañana is a Spanish short film by Nacho Vigalondo from the year 2003.

Action

A woman comes like every morning in a cafe, buys coffee and breakfast and wants to read the newspaper. You noticed that all the guests sit frozen. Suddenly, a man begins to sing. There seems to be a rehearsed declaration of love to the woman, the man, supported by the guests who sing some song lines on demand or dancing with the man of the woman, who appears every day in the café, of which he knew nothing sings, but wanted to learn more. However, the woman reacts frightened and alarmed secret police. Suddenly the song increased - a guest reads the text intended for it not fast enough from. The man threatened the guest and unveiled an explosive belt he wears and at any time could bring to explode. The song finally goes on and ends under the sirens outside the café. The man is asked by the police to come out of the café. A guest gives him with a filled with confetti pillow. The man goes, and shortly afterwards there is an explosion and a shower of confetti comes down to the guests. The woman remains silent.

Production

7:35 de la mañana was filmed in Madrid. The sets created Urko Aguirre. The cast of café guests also included Resu Vigalondo, the mother of the director. The film underwent on 21 November 2003 at the Gijon International Film Festival premiered.

Awards

At the Cinema Jove won 7:35 de la mañana the prize for best short film. On the Drama Short Film Festival, the film with the Prix UIP Drama (European Short Film ) was excellent and therefore also received a nomination for the European Film Award for Best Short Film. 7:35 de la mañana was nominated in 2005 for Best Short film for an Oscar in the category.
