( 754 ) Malabar, an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on August 22, 1906 in Heidelberg by the German astronomer August Kopff.

The asteroid was named after the Indonesian city of Malabar in West Java. This was done in memory of a Dutch- German expedition to Christmas Island to observe the solar eclipse in 1922.
