(850) Altona is an asteroid of the main belt, which was discovered on 27 March 1916 by Russian astronomer Sergei Ivanovich Beljavski at the Crimean Observatory in Shimei.

Is named the asteroid after the Hamburg district and location of the observatory, to which Heinrich Christian Schumacher began in 1821 with the publication of the Astronomische Nachrichten.
