( 8751 ) Nigricollis is an asteroid of the outer main belt, which was discovered on 24 September 1960 by the Dutch astronomer Cornelis Johannes van Houten couple and Ingrid van Houten - Groeneveld. ( 8751 ) Nigricollis is named after the Black-necked Grebe, Podiceps nigricollis whose scientific name is. At the time of designation of the asteroid on February 2, 1999, the Black-necked Grebe was on the Dutch Red List of Threatened Species.
