900 North Michigan

The 900 North Michigan Building is a 66 storey skyscraper comprehensive in the U.S. city of Chicago.

It is located in the Chicago Loop, near the John Hancock Center. The building houses 66 floors and has a height of 265 meters. After two years of construction, the 900 North Michigan Building was completed in 1989. Because of its striking tip it is often considered particularly beautiful skyscrapers. The building is the eighth-highest in Chicago. In the first six floors are shops and restaurants, from the eighth floor offices are housed. Furthermore, a Four Seasons hotel and condos are located in the high-rise. With 1750 parking spaces, the 900 North Michigan is home to one of the largest car parks of Chicago.

The lower part of the building was constructed of a steel structure, about a reinforced concrete was used. The facade consists of limestone with windows made ​​of green glass. The design of the building with its characteristic four turrets on the roof is a tribute to the Viennese architecture. The grounds of the 900 North Michigan is bounded by the streets of East Delaware Place, East Walton Place and North Michigan Avenue. It was designed by the architectural firm of skyscrapers Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates.
